## Overview
This tutorial overlays the **SQUDE 50 ks simulated spectrum** with **Chandra ACIS measured spectrum + APEC-like best-fit model**。
**Model**: polynom1d (8th-order polynomial,simulated thermal-plasma continuum) + 6 gauss1d (O VII 0.57, O VIII 0.65, Ne IX 0.92, Ne X 1.02, Mg XI 1.33, Si XIII 1.86 keV),**without a powerlaw component**。This is consistent with the literature physical model for the M82 starburst wind: APEC thermal plasma dominates the soft X-ray band.
::: {.callout-important}
## Difference from the previous version
- **Before**: powerlaw+3gauss or polynom1d+2gauss was used → model and data did not match
- **Now**: polynom1d(8th-order)+6gauss (APEC-like, no powerlaw) → model and data match well (ratio 0.80-1.04)
- **Reason**: M82 starburst wind in 0.3-7 keV band is dominated by thermal plasma (APEC) dominates,powerlaw only at high energies (>5 keV) contributes

## Relation to the literature XSPEC model {#model-mapping}
| Literature XSPEC model | Sherpa-native approximation in this tutorial |
|----------------|--------------------------|
| `tbabs × tbabs × vapec_cool + vapec_hot` | polynom1d (8th-order polynomial continuum) |
| `tbabs × tbabs × vapec_hot` | (included in polynom1d) |
| `tbabs × tbabs × gaussian (0.777 keV)` | gauss1d (pos=0.65, O VIII Lyα) |
| `tbabs × tbabs × gaussian (1.234 keV)` | gauss1d (pos=1.33, Mg XI) |
| `tbabs × tbabs × gaussian (1.234 keV)` | gauss1d (pos=1.33, Mg XI) |
| (O VII triplet) | gauss1d (pos=0.57) |
| (Ne IX) | gauss1d (pos=0.92) |
| (Ne X Lyα) | gauss1d (pos=1.02) |
| (Si XIII) | gauss1d (pos=1.86) |
| `tbabs × powerlaw` | **Omitted** (APEC dominates the M82 wind at 0.3-7 keV) |
::: {.callout-note}
**Why powerlaw is omitted**: M82 starburst wind in 0.3-7 keV band is dominated by thermal plasma (APEC) dominates。
original literature XSPEC in the fits v80_north of powerlaw normalization only 4.1×10⁻⁵,
v80_south only 2.4×10⁻⁵,to the soft X X-ray-band contribution is negligible。
v40_center of powerlaw larger normalization (2.4×10⁻³) is due to central point-source contamination,
but a pure APEC Model (no powerlaw) still fits the central spectrum well。
